There were a few years that I studied people. I needed to figure out how to communication in the most effective way possible so I read books, talked to people and observed other people interacting. What a eye opener! There are two important pieces to being a content adult: 1. Knowing how to manage your money and 2. Being about to connect with other humans.
These are things you have to learn on your own. School doesn't recognize "making friends" as a class or even "How to not be a social retard." We all have nuances that annoy or deflect people... wouldn't you want to know what those were?
I am all about changing and growing as a person. I figure if I can connect with other people like myself, together we can ask the hard questions and help each other on our quest for life's holy grail.
A few of my former projects: I have read an amazing list of management/self-help/relationship books which essentially are all about the same thing: How to connect with people. Before I got married to my husband I decided to try figuring him out. I tried several communication tactics over a 2-3 month period. Some were a horrible disaster, some were ok, and one in particular worked like a charm.
So I am not just pulling these ideas out of thin air... they have been tested and approved. :)
